This handcrafted box is made from some beautiful Sapele with Peruvian Walnut used to trim out the top. You can purchase as an empty box or with a divided tray with dividers under the tray. A single board was used for the four sides and sequenced so the grain wraps nicely around the mitered corners. Due to the chatoyancy of Sapele this is not always as obvious as with other species. The inside bottom is lined with a nice looking faux leather material, perfectly fitted. Stop hinges will hold the lid open at 95 degrees.
It is finished with Danish Oil, followed by buffing and polishing with pure Carnauba wax. Finish is shiny but not too glossy and feels great.
O/S dimensions: 12-1/2 x 9-1/2 x 4"
I/S dimensions: 11 x 8 x 3-1/4". Depth includes lid space. The bottom portion depth is 2-1/2"
Underside is signed, dated, and includes finish care instructions. I recommend Howard Feed-N-Wax for keeping the box looking nice. It is readily available on the internet and will keep your box looking great for years.
Engraving is no additional charge for monograms, two first names plus a last name, and date, etc. Photos are shown of types of engraving that are included at no charge. If something other than similar to what is shown is desired, please let me know. We can probably accommodate. Normally engraving can be done without a delay in shipping, but if you need a rush job, please convo me first and check if we can get it done in time.
A clasp can also be added for $12 additional. The clasp I use is pictured. Trays with dividers underneath are $65 additional.
